Top 4 Natural ways of Treating and Reversing Dementia you need to know

One of my patients recently asked me what I would do if I had a relative with dementia.

First, let me share some background on Dementia :

Dementia is a general term for a human state where there is a severe decline of the mental ability which may interfere with daily life. The commonly affected areas of dysfunction include the natural memory, visual-spatial, language, attention and problem solving abilities of individuals. Alzheimer’s is the most common type of dementia, with 70% – 80% of cases. Dementia tends to steadily worsen over time and there are warning signs for the family for when it is becoming severe which include :

  • Wandering or restlessness
  • Agitation
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Abnormal motor behavior
  • Elated mood
  • Irritability
  • Tremor
  • Speech and language difficulty
  • Trouble eating or swallowing
  • Memory distortions
  • Apathy
  • Impulsivity
  • Changes in sleep habits
  • Changes in appetite.

Dementia is caused by degeneration of the brain from many possible causes that all produce insufficient circulation of blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).What are we concerned with here? The problems should all sound familiar—we all fight these problems every day:

1) Remove Build-up of plaque from heavy metals, severe stress, systemic toxicity, and chronic infection – Remove the arteriosclerotic plaque with IV chelation, oral chelation, rectal insufflations with ozone, autohemotherapy with ozone and improve adrenal and thyroid hormone functions. Dementia is most commonly caused by the build-up of plaque in arteries (atherosclerotic or arteriosclerotic plaque aka hardening of the arteries) in the brain.

Chelation therapy is the most prominent therapy to remove plaque with a fifty-year history of safe treatments. Chelation removes the heavy metals incorporated into the plaque. It does not remove infections or remove other toxins.

Ozone treatments are experiencing a revival after a 60-year disappearance from the medical mainstream. Ozone, a form of oxygen that has 3 atoms of oxygen instead of the typical 2-atom oxygen molecule, is very unstable and reactive, forming a variety of compounds: O2, the typical oxygen that we breathe, O-, a rare form of oxygen that quickly combines with heavy metals, and OH*radical, a form of hydroxyl that is lethal to most bacteria, all fungi, all viruses, and all cancer cells. We are safely exposed to ozone in limited dosages because of catalase, an enzyme that breaks down the hydroxyl free radical. The MRSA infections that you have read about are bacteria that have incorporated the same enzyme into themselves.

There are two ways to get ozone into the body because breathing it is not safe, and adding ozone to water neutralizes many of the benefits. The original method of adding ozone to the body was to insert a catheter into a vein and to inject the ozone directly. This works well if the injection is not pushed too rapidly, leading to scarring of the veins.

Autohemotherapy again uses a vein catheter, but this time the blood is withdrawn from the body and ozonated outside the body before being injected back into the body. This can be done with either one or two catheters, with the two catheter techniques being much more thorough. Sometimes the two-catheter technique has been called Recirculatory Hemoperfusion (RHP), Super Oxidative Apheresis (SOAP), or Polyatomic Apheresis (PA). There are ozone treatments where the patient sits inside a large bag or in a body-only sauna that are useful for skin conditions, but will not help dementia.

The least “medical” of the ozone treatments is rectal insufflations, where the patient first has an enema or colonic, followed by an ozone “enema” where up to a liter of concentrated ozone gas is squirted into the rectum and colon through a silicon catheter. The ozone goes directly into the portal circulation, quickly entering the liver and altering functions there. With repetition, the liver begins passing the ozone into the rest of the body. This is a very gradual, accumulative technique that can be performed at home for a low cost.

2) Increase circulation with foods and herbs such as niacin, gingko, lemon balm, garlic, cayenne, ginseng, green tea, and with nutraceuticals like apoaequonin (Prevagen) and centrophenoxine (Centro-Pro).

3) Increase circulation through exercise

4) Decrease inflammation by lowering insulin levels (insulin is an inflammatory hormone) and by consuming omega-3 and omega-9 oils by eating few simple carbohydrates and plenty of oily, protein-rich foods, especially seafood and grass-fed animal products.

So far we have only talked of biochemical problems leading to senility. But never fear, Dr. Howell the physical medicine specialist is here, and yes, there are great improvements available with physical medicine, too! Namely, of course, NeuroCranial Restructuring, which is the technique that I developed and remains my specialty.

I can mechanically change your body so that the skull bones pinch the brain less and less, improving the patterns of flow of CSF and blood with each and every treatment. If the biochemical methods don’t help, you must try physical methods next. The NCR is listed last, but it may be the most important of the dementia-improving techniques!

Top 5 things you need to know about Lyme Disease and its treatment

Lyme Disease

Although many people are now aware of the severity of the Lyme disease infections, it hasn’t yet triggered changes in behavior which would limit the spread of this dreaded disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, even their extremely conservative estimates show 300,000 Americans getting diagnosed with new cases of this bacterial infection each year.More accurate diagnostic techniques show that there are millions of people infected with this scourge.

The CDC also notes that Lyme disease affects people of all ages and it is most common in children, older adults, and others such as firefighters and park rangers who spend time in outdoor activities and have higher exposure to ticks.Lyme disease is a bacterial infection which is primarily transmitted by ticks which are usually found in wooded and grassy areas.People need to keep themselves well-covered whenever entering areas where Lyme-infected ticks are a problem. The days of walking in these areas with exposed skin are over.

Dr. Richard Horowitz,M.D,a leading Lyme expert says “Lyme Disease is the number 1 worldwide epidemic… it’s spreading, it’s mimicking every disease and it’s going to destroy the world’s population.”Often patients suffering from Lyme Disease are misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, and various psychiatric illnesses, including depression. Misdiagnosis with these other diseases may delay the correct diagnosis and treatment as the underlying infection progresses unchecked.(Read more here).

Some common symptoms of Lyme Disease include:

  • Widespread joint and muscle pain
  • Severe fatigue and nausea
  • Headache, rashes and unexplainable fevers
  • Heart palpitations
  • Depression, Nerve Pain and Numbness
  • Interstitial cystitis and muscle spasms
  • Tingling and Stiffness
  • Light-headedness, Tremors and Confusion
  • Double vision, Anxiety & Sensitivity to light and sound

Treatment of Lyme Disease

There are no known vaccines to Lyme Disease, not that we would all likely line up for such a dangerous injection! The most common way to treat Lyme disease is the use of antibiotics, which is occasionally effective. Antibiotics like doxycycline or amoxicillincan be taken orally immediately after the initial bite, and they might kill the infection before it becomes encysted. The percentages of success lower quickly with time. In later infections, antibiotic usage often becomes chronic, leading to all sorts of undesirable effects. Studies show that chronic Lyme disease patients continue to suffer ever after using antibiotics—because the antibiotics are usually unable to kill the infection. It is a poor treatment model.

Instead, the most powerful and potent mode of recovery and treatment is to build the immune system up with nutraceuticals, detoxification, and specific nutrition, and to kill the infection with more potent agents like ozone or hydrogen peroxide therapies.

The most powerful treatment therapy that is highly successful for Lyme disease is ozone therapy. It helps to detoxify the body of many charged, toxic ions and forms hydroxyl free radical, a free radical which is lethal to virus, bacteria, cancer, and fungus—and even Lyme Disease.

Some major benefits of Ozone therapy are:

A.Helps to detoxify the liver, even decreasing the uric acid levels in the body

  1. De-clogs the blood vessels and improves blood circulation
  2. Kills viruses, bacteria, and fungi from the blood
  3. Optimizes cellular and immune system functions

In the upcoming future Dr. Howell plans to provide Blood-ozone treatments at his Health Optimization Centers worldwide.
